Common questions

Including the bits people actually worry about—files, retention, and what “free” means here. (The dry legal version lives in the privacy policy; this is the human-readable tour.)

What happens to my files when I use a tool?

Your file is sent to our systems so we can do exactly what you asked—compress a PDF, try to repair a damaged file, or similar.

When that run finishes, the upload, temporary working data, and the output tied to that run are removed from our application systems automatically, no later than one hour afterwards. We do not keep your uploads to sell ads or build marketing profiles.

Do you keep a long-term copy of my documents?

There is no “forever library” of your tool uploads on our side. For security and abuse prevention we may keep short technical audit records; by design they do not contain your file contents or file names.

How we process data

Do I need an account?

Most tools work without signing in. If something needs an account, the tool card shows that up front before you open it.

Is this really free?

Yes. Mandavo Tools is free for the jobs we offer here. The catalogue grows over time—what you see on this page is the current menu, not a teaser for a paid suite hiding behind the curtain.

Are there limits, queues, or fair-use rules?

Yes, and they exist so the service stays usable for everyone. Each tool page shows the file sizes we accept. We apply light rate limiting, and if a job is already running you may need to wait for it to finish before starting another.

If we are temporarily at capacity, you will get a clear message rather than a silent failure.

Why do I sometimes see a quick check before the tool runs?

That step helps block automated abuse so real people get a steady, predictable experience. Where it appears, complete it and try again—one honest click beats a queue full of bots.

Do I need to install software?

No. A normal, up-to-date browser is enough—you pick a tool, follow the steps, download the result.

Can every damaged file be fixed?

Not always. Repair tools do their best with what is still inside the file, but corruption varies. If recovery is not possible, you will get an honest error—no fake “success” file.

When in doubt, keep a separate backup of anything you cannot afford to lose.

Who operates this, and what about privacy rights?

Mandavo Tools is run from Germany. You have the usual rights under EU data protection law (access, correction, deletion where applicable, objection, complaint to a supervisory authority—details depend on the situation).
