What does this writing check cost?

Accepted Answer

Quick check uses fast heuristics on our servers. It costs no credits up to 4,000 characters; past that, quick still works and is charged by length. Deep run is optional and adds a separate, slower analysis pass (still an estimate, not proof of who wrote it): it costs more than quick at the same length because of that extra pass. The price is always decided on the server when you submit — the page only shows an estimate.

Why are there credits on some options?

Credits keep usage fair and the service sustainable: they reflect heavier processing, help limit abuse, and contribute to running and maintaining the tools. Some checks can run at no charge; options that need more from our side use your balance.

Can I change the price in the browser?

Accepted Answer

No. The cost is computed on the server from what you actually submit. If a run fails after a charge, your balance is refunded automatically for that attempt.

What is the difference between Quick check and Deep run?

Quick check looks at statistical patterns in the text (word choice, rhythm, repetition, layout cues). It is free up to 4,000 characters; longer quick runs use credits. Deep run adds another analysis pass with a large language model hosted on our infrastructure for a more contextual read — optional whenever you want it, priced higher than quick at the same length. Both can be wrong; neither is legal or academic evidence of authorship.
